We are delighted to announce that applications for the Queen’s Nurse title are now open!
Please circulate this information with your community nursing colleagues.
Essential criteria required to apply for the Queen’s Nurse title:
Currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (please make sure your NMC record is up to date).
Minimum of five consecutive years in a community or primary care setting including education (If you are international nurse, please check your eligibility here).
Currently working in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands or Isle of Man.
Must have support from your direct line manager who has managed you for at least six months or a senior colleague at the same seniority as the current line manager.
Must have support from your professional/clinical lead (a person who has been qualified for a minimum 5 years and who has known and worked with the applicant for a minimum of six months).
Must have support from two additional contributors (patients, colleagues or students), depending on their role.
Must not be under any investigation by the employing organisation or NMC.

Once your applications is submitted we will contact your referees. They will have between 2 and 4 weeks to complete the reference forms depending on the submission date of your application. It is in your interest to submit your application as soon as possible so they have more time to complete your reference.
The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 26th July. The closing date for reference submission is midnight on Sunday 9th August.
